Woody Creek Potato Gin

Today is a bit of a change up from what we usually do, it’s a switch over to a gin. I do focus on Whiskey, but I come across other spirits that I love, and this is one of them.

Woody Creek puts out a few products right now, but I definitely believe their best is the gin. It is a mix between Old World and New World gins, and it shows.

On the nose, this gin has aromas of citrus, juniper/pine tree, a lot of of other botanicals like lavender that blend together, and just a hint of sweetness there.

Once you take the sip, it has a bit of heat/alcohol, but it light right away. Then the mid palate comes in you get the juniper flavors with some citrus that has a lemon grass/lemon zest flavor. The citrus has that bit of sweetness that hangs out in the background, along with some botanical/herbal flavors that play on the background really complimenting the juniper. The finish continues this complex pattern, and lingers long after the sip is gone.

If you like gin, or even if you are a take it or leave it kind of person, I HIGHLY recommend this gin. It not only is great to drink on its own, but makes one of the best gin and tonics I have ever had.

Overall, I will leave this gin with an 89/100. It is delicious, smooth, complex, and just a great gin.
