Updates, Thanksgiving, and Changes

Happy late Thanksgiving to every one of you who read our blog. I know that over the last few months I have been really quiet, and that the posts, podcasts, and everything had slowed down significantly for a while before that. I want to give a brief insight into my life, some decisions I have made for changing things around, and express some gratitude.

First, I want to give thanks for everyone who has read Mile High Bourbon over the last 6 years. Being a huge fan of distilled spirits, I wanted to have place to share that enjoyment with people and the response has been overwhelmingly positive. From the bottom of my heart, I truly appreciate all of you that follow that website, social media posts, and have interacted with us in various ways over the years. It has made this hobby into a great source of enjoyment for me. I never thought I would have so many people reading our reviews or interacting with us as have done so over the years. So once again, thank you!

With all of that being said, I wanted to address the lack of content over the last year or so. There have been a lot of changes going on in my life, which greatly declined my desire to keep pursuing this website as I had before. I was in a job that I was unhappy with while working more hours than I care to admit. I was not spending any time with family or friends, and generally just coming home to sleep and then get up to go to work again. I decided to make a drastic change, and started a brand new career this year which has frankly re-invigorated me, and I am back to a place where I think I can put some time into Mile High Bourbon and Rye once again. I spent the first few months of this career learning new skills, and using my newfound free time to spend with my family. There was a lot of time missed that I won’t be able to fully make up, but I certainly was able to start.

Now that I feel I can truly start working at this site again, I have some big plans I want to start, including getting merchandise available, tasting events with people, and eventually even MHBR Exclusive spirits from Colorado’s fine distilleries. I truly appreciate everyone who has continued to support us by reading and sharing our content.

To anyone is interested in a way to help us out, there is a donate button on this page. Clicking that will take you to a spot where you can send some money to help MHBR grow and expand for the future. Essentially this will act as a tip jar, if you have enjoyed our content over the years, consider sending us a little bit to help cover the expenses of the site, and to start working towards those lofty goals. Otherwise, keep reading, sharing, and interacting with our content.

Thank you all so much for the all years of Mile High Bourbon and Rye, and here’s to many more!

Cheers,

Zach P.
