Our state’s spirited journey began in the 19th century, with pioneers like Adolph Coors establishing the Golden Brewery in 1873, laying the foundation for Colorado’s brewing legacy and paving the way for winemakers and distillers to come later.

Despite the challenges of Prohibition in the early 20th century, Colorado’s resilient spirit led to a renaissance in craft beverages. The late 20th century saw a surge in craft breweries, with innovators such as New Belgium and Great Divide gaining national acclaim. Simultaneously, the state’s unique high-altitude terroir fostered a burgeoning wine industry, with vineyards flourishing in regions like the Grand Valley. Colorado is also a pioneer in the craft spirits industry, with distillers making some of the first American Single Malts, and the state being home to America’s First Single Pot Still Distillery.

Today, Colorado stands as a beacon for enthusiasts, offering a diverse and vibrant scene that honors its storied past while embracing innovation.
