Colorado
A state filled with beauty both natural and man made. Whose beauty is captured by thousands every year, whether they live here or are just passing through. Whose mountains and views have inspired songs, paintings, and more. With a capital city skyline that is immediately recognizable, and 58 peaks at more than 14,000 feet, there is something for everyone to love.
Colorado has nearly 100 distilleries, putting the centennial state as one of the highest spirits producers in terms of distilleries in the state in the U.S.
Stranahan’s was the first in Colorado to open it’s doors, and started a trend in the state that has led to amazing products being crafted from the Mile High City to the Western Slope and Pueblo to Fort Collins.
We have had the privilege of visiting many of these distilleries and getting to know many of the people that run them. These distilleries not only produce some of the best spirits we have had the pleasure of sipping on, but are run by some of the best people we’ve encountered in our journeys.
These amazing people are creating unique products that are winning many awards across the country and the entire world. With whiskey aged with Aspen Staves, unique blends, and Whiskey distilled and aged higher than anywhere else in the world, Colorado has made it’s mark in the distilling world.
As 2021 comes to a close, and the world continues to move forward in spite of the pandemic, I just wanted to take a moment to reflect on the wonderful gift this state has bestowed upon us. I can’t wait for what the future holds for us, for the state, and the whiskey industry.
So everyone join us in a toast. A toast to Colorado spirits. A toast to the friends all of us have made over the enjoyment of these spirits. And more than anything, a toast to you, our readers, listeners, and followers. All of you make this possible, and we are so excited to enjoy all of these libations together. Cheers to 2022 and beyond. Sláinte!
