Bourbon review time again. Today we have the Bib and Tucker Bourbon, a surprise bourbon given to me for Valentine’s day. One I had not heard of up to this point, I was definitely excited to try this. Out of Tennessee, this is a unique and very interesting bourbon, so let’s jump right in.
On the nose, this bourbon hits with some notes of honey, molasses, and vanilla. There are some very light background notes of leather, and some nuts, but those were hard to place.
On that Palate, Bib and Tucker starts off with a cinnamon spice flavor right away that has a little bit of sweetness with it. There are some earthy flavors there as well, with a sweet mid palate that has some toasted chestnut and citrus peel notes. The finish is sweet and molasses, and hangs around for a while, not the longest finish, but very enjoyable. It is a not a super thick feel on the palate, but is definitely enjoyable.
Adding some water, the nose gives more of the leather smell, and the palate opens up some more. The cinnamon and spice are more pronounced, and the roasted nut flavors come out more as well. The finish is a little bit shorter after adding water, but still hangs around for a little bit.
Angie rated this one at 88/100, while I gave it an 87/100. It is extremely unique, and one that I suggest everyone tries, as it is much different than any other bourbon I have tried. Angie says this would be the perfect bourbon for sipping in front of a roaring fire while snow falls outside, and I am inclined to agree.
Overall score: 87.5/100
